This code provides a set of signs, rules and procedures for navigating the inland waterways of Europe which are heavily utilised by commercial traffic whose operators are well aware of the CEVNI requirements. They also have an expectation that all other boat operators will know the score and understand what is going on. Knowing the CEVNI regulations is the best way of protecting yourselves and your boat.

This is a legal requirement when boating on the European canal system.
