Information on First Aid Courses

As an Employer you will be aware that the 1981 Health & Safety Regulations place a statutory duty on your Company to make an adequate First Aid provision for all employees in the workplace.

As a leisure boater, it's important to know that someone on your boat has an understanding of first-aid principles to allow you to call on their knowledge when things don't go quite to plan.

The Health and Safety First Aid courses offered are a valuable addition to the training requirements of many of the industries that Seatrek work with in the construction industries, Government agencies, Environment & Harbour Services and the Aquaculture Industry and many more.

Fully Accredited Courses

The courses run by Seatrek Training Limited are all recognised by The Health & Safety Executive, and accredited by national First Aid Associations, and The Royal Yachting Association, Southampton.

The Management of Health & Safety at Work Reg 1999:
This requires employers to assess the number of first aiders they will need within the work place the chart explains this.

Let Seatrek Help You Through

Contact us to discuss the nature of your business and number of employees, so that we can determine the legal requirements specific to your Company’s individual circumstances, and recommend courses to suit your needs.

On-site First Aid Training

Many companies and organisations prefer Seatrek to come to them to deliver on-site First Aid Training. This offers considerable savings in staff time and travel and accommodation costs. Courses can be scheduled to run where and when you wish, fitting in to your existing work schedules or seasonal work patterns. We deliver to your premises exactly the same syllabus, training aids and student packs as supplied in our Public courses.

Our tutors travel across Inverclyde, Argyll and the Islands on a regular basis, from Mull and Oban in the North, to Campbeltown and Islay in the South, not forgetting Helensburgh and the Cowal Peninsula. Course charges are the same as those for courses held in Kip; if you can supply a suitable training room, there is only a modest supplementary charge for the Tutor’s travelling time, fuel costs, and accommodation (if applicable).

How Many Students In A Class?

Teaching groups never exceed the ratio of 12 students to one tutor, which is optimal for the delivery of the detailed subject matter. Courses can be run for a minimum of 6 delegates.

What Are The Training Methods?

We use modern teaching methods, based on the tutor’s lecture and supported by visual training aids and course notes. There is always time allocated for discussion, with pace dictated by the needs of the group. Courses are supported throughout with practical demonstrations and the use of resuscitation manikins.

Are Course Materials Provided?

Each student receives a Study Pack containing a First Aid Handbook and sample First Aid materials. Our own Course Notes have been produced to back-up classroom lectures, and each students receives a full set as a permanent record of their training. All these materials are included in the course prices.
